5 Ways to Spend May the Fourth Be With You

Hello fellow Star Wars enthusiasts! As we all know, May the Fourth is approaching quickly; if you don't have plans yet, this blog is for you. Here's a list of some of the places you should consider being on May Fourth, and what to wear while you relax at your chosen venue. Enjoy!

If you don't know what I'm referring to, May 4th has been dubbed "Star Wars Day" because of its easy transition into "May the Fourth be with you," similar enough to the actual quote "May the Force be with you." So if you love Star Wars but didn't know how to celebrate it, now you have the perfect excuse to nerd out to your heart's content.

Star Wars has always been close to my heart, but my heart is big enough for a lot of media content. One of my favorite shows is How I Met Your Mother, and if you watch it enough, you'll realize that all the male characters are obsessed with Star Wars. They make sure to sit down and watch the entire trilogy (Episodes IV, V, and VI) in one sitting every three years. So, to start off the list:

Option #1

Find your friend with the best TV/sound system (kudos if that's you), grab all your favorite snacks and drinks, and settle in for a long day of movies. But before you do that, be sure to pick a side and rep your favorite shirt. Personally, I'd go with Choking Hazard if you're into the dark side. Vadering is the latest internet craze, and you can be part of it! Simply photoshop someone choking you in midair with the force a la Darth Vader, and wear the shirt as an added touch; it's like inception.

Option #2

If you're just barely hanging on and all you want to do is watch Star Wars and forget about your adult problems (like me, Ted Mosby or Yoda), try Real The Struggle Is. First world problems? Love life gone the way of Alderaan? Can't even find work as a smuggler? Seriously, I think I need this shirt!

Option #3

Not up for an entire day of movies on the couch? Try getting out and doing something active. Perhaps a Star Wars action figure exchange in the park. Meet up with your friends to swap stories, action figures, and food and rep your favorite character with your shirt. Actually everyone should just wear the Rey Silhouette shirt, since apparently it's not easy to find action figures of her (I kid, I kid). Apparently it's even harder to guess her origins ahead of the next movie; speculation ranges from Luke Skywalker to Obi-wan Kenobi as her possible father. There's even theories that she could be a reincarnation of Darth Vader (or more accurately, Anakin Skywalker).

Option #4

Don't have any action figures or interest in them? Perhaps May the Fourth is the perfect time to get a new Star Wars tattoo! Get the Rebel Alliance symbol or perhaps a quote from your favorite character. And wear the Rebel Alliance Logo design if you want to make it really easy on the tattoo artist. Bringing peace to the galaxy by restoring the Republic with the aid of the Rebellion is always a worthy goal.

Option #5

If you didn't already buy tickets for the now sold out productions of Star Wars: The Empire Strips Back going on in Australia, at least watch the trailer because it is amazing. It's a Star Wars burlesque show; I still can't believe that's a real thing and that I didn't find out about it soon enough to buy tickets. If you are going, you are wonderful, I salute you, and also wear your sexiest Star Wars shirt. Hint: it's probably It's On Like Alderaan.

Don't see the perfect shirt for your May the 4th activity? Check out our DBH Star Wars Store. New designs are added daily, and you can get them in t-shirts, tank tops, hoodies and more! Keep your eyes open for the perfect design that captures your unique love of Star Wars. In whatever way you choose to celebrate, May the Fourth be with you!!
