Whether you’re a supporter of a romantic Valentine’s Day or you want to spend time with friends on Palentine’s Day (or maybe you just believe that the world is going to end on February 14th as predicted in Ghostbusters II), we can all agree that Valentine’s Day is a day to be celebrated.
Love should be applauded and appreciated! And, true love never dies, right? No one knows that better than the Ghostbusters! Love really never dies for them because it just keeps coming back as ectoplasmic goo or a class 5 full roaming vapor ghost instead. Awww so romantic?
In honor of Valentine’s Day (and the potential end of the world), find out about the perfect boo based on your ghostly love language! It’s time to know exactly the kind of partner you need in life (or maybe the afterlife) by learning your love language as seen through a paranormal Ghostbusters’ lens:
1) Gozer (Words of Affirmation)
We know that Gozer seems a little, well… er… terrifying and all, but don’t let that apocalyptic attitude and those glowing red eyes throw you off!
Gozer knows what she wants and she’s not about to let anyone tell her otherwise. She’s been worshipped as a God for centuries and she expects people to admire her and sacrifice animals in her honor.
If you’re like Gozer this Valentine’s Day, then just know that you’re a “words of affirmation” kind of person. You need your partner to shower you with sweet words, compliments, or maybe even a sacrificial goat once in a while.
2) Slimer (Gift Giving)
His nickname is “The Oniohead Ghost” but Slimer is all about heart! He might appear to be a “disgusting blob” but Slimer actually appreciates the finer things in life like chocolates, wine, and artisanal meats. Which means… his love language is gift giving! When we meet Slimer he’s stuffing his face with food from room service carts, but we just know that he would rather be invited to a fancy restaurant instead. He’d love for someone to buy him roses or even a sweet Valentine’s Day salami basket.
So, if you’re a Slimer this year, then you’ll love receiving gifts (because it shows that you were on your lover’s mind)! And, like Slimer, you love giving gifts as well. He’s all about sliming people, right?! What shows love more than a little ectoplasmic goo?
3) The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man (Quality Time)
If you’re all about evening strolls through New York’s Central Park with your sweetie, then you might just be a Stay Puft Marshmallow monster! You love spending quality time with your partner and being so in tune with each other’s thoughts that you manifest into a giant marshmallow creature, simply because it “popped” into your partner’s head for a second.

4) Vigo the Carpathian (Physical Touch)
He may not have a cutesy pet name (he is known as “Vigo the Torturer” and “Sorrow of Moldavia” after all) but Vigo the Carpathian is the perfect ghost to represent the “physical touch” love language!
This infamous Ghostbusters’ ghost is all about getting out of that dusty self-portrait and regaining his physical form. Vigo appreciates the importance of being able to hug and snuggle, even if he has to possess someone else’s body to do it. There’s nothing quite like a hug on Valentine’s Day, and if your love language is styled like good ol’ Vigo’s, then you couldn’t agree more!
5) Zuul/Vinz Clortho or Terror Dogs (Acts of Service)
For the god Gozer to regain her powers and destroy NYC, she needs a few acts of service and a little help along the way first.
That’s where Zuul and Vinz come in! The Terror Dogs, known as the Gatekeeper and the Keymaster, can’t wait to help Gozer in any way they can. The dog-like demons happily possess the bodies of Dana and Louis, perform all sorts of spooky rituals, and then help Gozer wreak havoc in New York City.
