1) What is creativity to you?
Creativity is a lot of things but when I think of it with my artwork, I think of a way to express myself. I'm a graphic designer by trade, and I love it, though there are a lot of rules and guides you have to follow. My art is a way to throw the rule book away and express myself. I love the freedom to create any idea that pops into my head, there are no rules.
2) Is there an artist/piece of art that you can’t live without?
I'm a big fan of Neil Gaiman's The Sandman. It's filled with such beautiful artwork from multiple artists - I love it.
3) If you had a time machine, what art period would you travel to? Why?
1950 Pop Art. I think the idea of this massive change from traditional fine arts to something that's so bold, colorful and new is amazing.
4) Do you know what your finished art piece will be, before you begin?
Not really, sometimes I get new ideas or make big changes halfway through once I see how it starts to form.
5) What do you do when you are experiencing a mental block to creating art?
Looking at other people's work! There are some amazing artist out there. Usually I'll browse through Instagram getting ideas and inspiration. I also usually go back to drawing something I always draw - like skulls and ideas on what to do next sometimes just come to me.
6) What creative people do you admire?
Like I said before - I follow some amazing artists on Instagram and I love watching their progress and see what new work they come up with. There are so many people out there just creating and being creative.
7) What is the ultimate message you would like to convey with your art?
I make art because I love it and enjoy creating - It's my form of expression. There isn't a really deep meaning behind it other than everyone should be able to express themselves. Do what you love!
