Marineloup is from Lisbon, Portugal and shares, “I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember.” Although much of her inspiration comes from Japanese culture, she also looks to nature, poetry, music, and literature to help motivate her creative pursuits. She believes that “inspiration is all around us” and we must just take the time to see it and capture it in art. She does not believe in labeling her style. In fact, she confesses, “I don't know how to define my style.” She proudly states, “I have my own way of doing things” and simply enjoys following where inspiration might lead.

She jokes that it can often feel like she has too many ideas to pursue or — conversely — that it can be “like a desert... creative blocks arise and nothing comes to me.” She recognizes that “the creative process is neither linear nor constant, it is necessary to be patient and let each of these phases flow.” She wants artists to be patient with themselves and their process and evolution. She understands that everyone has doubts or fears, but she encourages artists to just “keep working” and never feel defeated in the battlefield of creativity.
