Mos Eisley Cantina is in a galaxy far, far away from the much-loved bar, Cheers…but there’s still something about this famous dive bar that makes every alien head to Tatooine to grab a drink! So sit back and enjoy a glass of Tatooni Junko because it’s time to learn 5 fun facts about the Mos Eisley Cantina! 1) Leave Your Droids at Home.

Forget about getting one of your favorite droids like C-3PO, BB-8, or R2-D2 through the Mos Eisley Cantina door! The “No Droids” rule is strictly enforced! Droids are not great customers; they don’t drink alcohol, so they just take up valuable space from paying customers. Plus, if droids can’t get drunk then they’ll never buy a round of drinks for everyone! And there’s no fun in that…

2) A Cantina by Any Other Name Would Smell As…Um…

The famous Mos Eisley Cantina is also known as “Chalmun’s Cantina” after the Wookiee owner, Chalmun. Who knows, if Chewbacca hadn’t partnered up with Han Solo, maybe he’d be trying his luck as a bartender at this infamous spot!

3) Don’t Boo the Band.

The Cantina’s clientele may be a bit rough around the edges…but even they can appreciate good music. The upbeat 7-member band, Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes, never has to worry about the crowd throwing bottles at them! One of the bar’s rules makes sure that the audience “Applaud[s] the band—even if they're way off-key!”

4) Just Like in Cheers: Everyone’s Glad You Came.

Despite Obi-Wan Kenobi’s declaration to Luke Skywalker that the Cantina is a “wretched hive of scum and villainy”, the bar has some pretty strict rules about patrons being rude. The rules state: “Make pleasant conversation and try to laugh at bad jokes” and “Be friendly. Buy a drink for your neighbor at the bar.” So don’t worry that Han Solo shot Greedo or that Obi Wan cut off someone’s hand with his lightsaber…everyone at the bar just wants to be friends. Promise!

5) One Long Island Iced Tea, Please!

Mos Eisley Cantina has 12 different beverages on tap and some of the galaxy’s favorite drinks! You may not be able to get a Long Island Iced Tea, but you can get a Blue Milk or the blue-colored milk produced by female banthas. Or you can taste a Tatooine Sunset, made from fermented fruit, or enjoy a refreshing glass of Yatooni Boska, a concoction made of fermented Dewback sweat! Whatever disgusting beverage your heart desires, the Mos Eisley Cantina has it!

So head to the Mos Eisley Cantina this Friday night! The music, drinks, and clientele aren’t always the best…but every alien knows your name and you just can’t beat that!
