DBH Fan Picks

Here at Design By Humans we're HUGE fans of..well...our fans! Our fans help support a wide variety of amazing international artists who've come together in one place to share their artwork. Each time our fans buy a t-shirt, tank top, sweatshirt, phone case - ANYTHING - they're helping another artist continue doing what they love to do (make art!). So to our fans - thank you for helping keep art alive! In the spirit of thanking our fans, we've been asking YOU what your favorite DBH designs are. Check out the featured responses and make sure to let us know what YOUR favorites are in the comments section below.

Fan Pick #1: Calavera III by Wotto

"I was giving up because of the poor quality of other site's t-shirt prints and then I came across DBH..."

What makes this one of your favorite DBH designs?
A few years ago, I was looking for new shirts. I live in Finland aka on the world's edge. The prices of shirts are ridiculous. Over 35 dollars for a normal t-shirt. I googled my dream " t-shirt for every day". I found thousands and thousands of websites... few hours later I was giving up because of the poor quality of other site's t-shirt prints and then I came across DBH.This design (Calavera III) was the first that I noticed - and is still one of my all time favourites. Thanks to wotto and DBH for bringing options for "humans".

Fan Pick #2: Viking Dragon Emblem by TrueThreads

Fan: Lucie Vi
"My boyfriend showed me this design and I fell in love with it."

What makes this one of your favorite DBH designs?
I loved "How to Train your Dragon 2", but love is a such little word. My boyfriend showed me this design and I fell in love with it. He bought it for my birthday but I had to wait to come back from my holiday to have it, so I put the design as a wallpaper on my phone. I spent 2 weeks traveling through Norway, looking at this image and listening to the theme song of "How to Train your Dragon" and dreaming of riding Dragons. When I came back it was here and it's amazing. Thank you!

What makes DBH stand out to you?
As a "geek" I like your designs because they are cool and fun. The contest for Diablo III was nice and so is the one for Assassin's Creed! I love the fact that the pictures on your shirt are big (sometimes in other shop the designs are very little :/ )

Fan Pick #3: Epic Combo #23 by BioTwist

Fan: John "Juanisimo" Bugajski
"It is an instant friend maker. I have this shirt in 2 different colors and I think I need more."

What makes this one of your favorite DBH designs?
On one of my first visits to DBH I was scrolling through the numerous designs and they were all pretty cool. But when I came across Epic Combo 23 I knew I needed one of those shirts. There really isn't anything I'd rather have on a t-shirt than a space-man, a unicorn, and a rainbow. This is not an everyday tee for me. I only bring it out on special occasions, and when I do, I get non-stop compliments. I recently wore it out to a show at Madison Square Garden in NYC. During the train ride, the wait in line outside, and anytime I was walking around (going to use the restroom for example) I was constantly getting comments along the lines of "I love that shirt" and "where did you get that shirt?". It is an instant friend maker. I have this shirt in 2 different colors and I think I need more.

What makes DBH stand out to you?
The designs are truly unique. On top of the awesome graphics available, the shirts are always very comfortable, they look good, and seem to be of high quality. DBH is pretty much the only place I get my graphic t shirts.

Fan Pick #4: Electric Music City by Expo

Fan: Zac Gomes
"Electric City can stir the feeling that this lifestyle is incomplete and there are new adventures waiting."

"My Electric Music City t-shirt was only recently ordered and is still in transit, which can take about 2 weeks. I have attached a picture of me wearing Lost City!"

What makes this one of your favorite DBH designs?
Electric Music City is a favourite because of its sense of escapism without criticizing the comfort of daily living. The power lines, calm blue sky and tree line create the safe, homely feeling of a suburban street. Yet the silhouetted power lines and trees, birds in flight and musical notes detaches viewers from the city life. It can stir the feeling that this lifestyle is incomplete and there are new adventures waiting. Finally, the creative use of black voids and bright colours, similar to Eternal Youth and I Want My Blue Sky, is fundamental to the contrast between the two worlds.

What makes DBH stand out to you?
How I got hooked: Here in Perth, Australia there was a time when it didn't matter which clothing store you visited, a male could only get shirts with capital cities (which I've never visited), skulls, or half-naked women. That was it. I was looking for abstract or surreal designs. After a few minutes on Google, I stumbled upon DBH, found shirts like The Lost City and The Beginning and the rest writes itself.
What brings me back: The sheer variety of designs means there will always be something that suits me as styles change. The fact that the t-shirts are sweatshop and child labour free and purchases support artists around the world are also strong reasons for returning to DBH.

Fan Pick #5: Zombiester by FourScore

Fan: Anonymous
"Can you tell I have the urge for brains? Hah! This shirt completes me..."

What makes this one of your favorite DBH designs?
I'm absolutely in love with zombies. The Walking Dead has been my favorite television show since it aired in October of 2010. Can you tell I have the urge for brains? Hah! This shirt completes me, it's a shame I just had a financial hit in my personal life due to being laid off at work. If I was a millionaire, I would buy every single shirt I loved on this site. But, when I first saw this shirt, I was about to go to a Zomboy show in Philadelphia to see him for the first time live. I was so excited, I came right to Design by Humans to see if they had any zombie shirts. I found this one and fell in love at first site. It is such a flawless design, the colors pop and he looks super creepy. I've had my eye on this shirt for such a long time.

What makes DBH stand out to you?
Well, I don't dress like a girly girl. I'm more of a relaxed, laid back, in my sweatpants and t-shirt kinda girl. I first stumbled upon it looking for a clothing store online. Typed into google, and stumbled across DBH. I fell in love with the designs. There are so many talented artists on here. Every time I come across a spacey design or a colorful one, I go nuts and have to have it. I then showed my boyfriend, and a large group of friends this site, they almost fell over and died about how awesome every shirt was. I always come back to look at the new designs, always setting up a list on my laptop of shirts I want to own. When Christmas comes around, I always pray I get a few DBH shirts. I will forever come here and splurge when I do get enough money to get the shirts I want.
