Delicious Concoctions for the Holidays

Delicious Concoctions for the Holidays

‘Tis the season for great parties! And resolutions there’s no way in hell you’ll keep. Possibly with a side of bad hangover in the aftermath of said parties. Whatever your plans are for New Year’s Eve, they should definitely involve delicious drinks, alcoholic or non!

1. Wassail (Non-Alcoholic)

From: Dez - Community Art Moderator

One her favorite liquids is apple juice, so naturally the Wassail is her drink of choice (you know, “here we come a-wassailing”). People used to go around singing for this stuff so it’s gotta be worth trying right!?

Ingredients 2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks plus 8 for garnish 10 whole allspice 8 whole cloves 1 quart cranberry juice cocktail 1 quart apple cider 2 tablespoon sugar 1 apple 1 cup apple liqueur

2. Pear Sangria (Alcoholic)

From: Emily - Community Recruiter

Another really delicious-sounding concoction is spiced pear sangria. Emily advises everyone to prepare it the night before to capitalize on the flavors..

Ingredients 1 bottle chilled dry white wine 1 bottle chilled champagne 3 ounces orange liqueur 2 freshly sliced pears 2 apples (sliced and cored) 20 whole cloves 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

3. Hot Peppermint Cocoa (Alcoholic)

From: Kira - Graphic Designer

Kira loves this simple classic and it’s also one of my personal favorites. Plus you can always make it non-alcoholic for your lil’ ones with a dollop of peppermint-flavored coffee creamer!

Ingredients 1 quart skim milk 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate 6 ounces peppermint schnapps Whipped cream 6 peppermint stick candy

4. Holiday Old Fashioned (Alcoholic)

From: Bianca - Artist Account Manager

If you love whiskey (like Biana does), this is the perfect concoction to make your holiday just right. Old fashioneds are lovely any time of year, but New Year’s is the perfect time to enjoy a vintage drink with some flair!

Ingredients 1 ounces holiday spiced simple syrup 2 ounces bourbon 3 dashes of bitters Orange slices for muddling Maraschino cherries for muddling Cinnamon stick for garnish

5. Fancy & Simple Champagne Cocktails (Alcoholic)

From: Ben - Community Recruiter

If you’re hosting a fancy party for New Years (like our friend Ben), here’s an easy way to have several options for bubbly drinks! These are elegant and delicious drinks that aren’t too tough to make either.

Here’s the Blackberry Thyme Sparkler:

Ingredients 1 cup blackberries + 8 more for garnish 1 cup water 1 cup sugar 1 bottle of champagne 4 ounces gin 4 long sprigs of thyme 1 cup ice Gold baking sugar for the rim

Ben also highly recommends the Creamsicle Fizz:

Ingredients Sugar 1/2 cup ice 1 ounces vanilla vodka 1 ounces orange or blood orange juice Champagne Cava Prosecco 1 orange slice

As you can see, these are simple bubbly drinks that will have your guests raving over your elegance and style!

6. Easy Apple Cider (Non-Alcoholic)

From: Jeff - Owner

Last but not least, is a recipe for apple cider recommended by our Prez himself!! It’s one for the whole family, and it’s a great one for parties that include kids as well as adults. If you really want to spice it up you can add brandy.

Ingredients 64 ounces bottle of apple cider 3 cinnamon sticks 1 teaspoon whole allspice 1 teaspoon whole cloves 1/3 cup brown sugar

Simple drink recipes that will impress everyone you know, make the cold months easier to get through, keep you warm while you walk, skip, or frolic through the freezing cold! You can do it all on your own with a lot of tasty fresh ingredients. Or you can buy it at the store. Whatever floats your boat!

Comment below with your favorite drinks, and lets all wish for a fantastic 2017!!
