Best Tips to Promote Your Artist Store for the Holidays
It’s almost the most wonderful time of the year… the season dedicated to decorating! And — oh my gourd — do we love those weird fancy gourds around the holidays! Whether you’re a fan of Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas, it’s time to start thinking about being crowned the “Most Festive” person this season. Grab a box of those fake Halloween cobwebs out of the attic (blow the real spiderwebs off the box first) and then start gathering pine cones for your Christmas wreath because it’s almost time.
Okay… maybe it’s a little too soon to start decorating the house for the holidays, but that doesn’t mean you can’t plan ahead for the season. In fact, we’re here to encourage all DBH artists to start thinking about how to “decorate” or prep their DBH Store for the holiday season!
Here are a few of the best tips to make sure your store is ready for the busiest time of the year:
1) Upload Your Best Art
You wouldn’t just show up to a Halloween costume party as a boring old ghost in a white sheet, right? You’d waltz into that party in your very finest Dracula costume and steal the show! We think your DBH Store should have the same strategy.
Get ready for the holiday season by uploading your best artwork to your DBH Store. The more designs that you have available for purchase, the more likely that your artwork will show up in the DBH search results. So, visit your Artist Dashboard to start enabling more products today!
2) Add Your Designs to All Available Styles
You know what’s better than one awesome Halloween costume? How about three!? Why stop at one Dracula costume when you can be a werewolf, a slice of pizza, and a stormtrooper too?! The same goes for your DBH Store! We’ve added several new styles to DBH and we can’t wait to see how your art looks on them. Be sure to try out all your amazing designs on new bodies & colors!
3) Upload Seasonal Designs
If you have any awesome holiday-themed designs, then upload them to your DBH Store this season! Whether it’s a fun Halloween costume tee or an ugly Christmas sweater, we can’t wait to get into the festive spirit with you! As Buddy the Elf says, “the best way to spread holiday cheer, is to upload designs for all to see.” Okay maybe he didn’t say that exactly, but we know that he’d still love the idea of spreading holiday cheer with new seasonal designs.
4) Upload a Banner
It’s almost time to get into the holiday spirit by decorating your house with Christmas lights or building a fake cemetery in your front yard! No one wants to go Christmas caroling at the gloomy house on the block, or trick-or-treat at a house without a jack-o'-lantern, right? The same applies to your DBH Store! Don’t forget to decorate your DBH Store by uploading a banner to entice customers this holiday season. Choose one of your favorite designs for the banner or create a fun seasonal look to attract customers too!
5) Upload a Store Avatar
You know how we always want to know who’s behind that amazing masked Halloween costume? Or who in the office baked those delicious gingerbread cookies? The same goes for your DBH Store! Upload your store Avatar so we can see who’s behind all of the amazing artwork.
6) Add a Title & Description
If you’ve just uploaded an ugly Christmas sweater with an adorable cat named Santa Claws, or added a spooky zombie tee for Halloween, then tell us all about it! How purrfect does Santa Claws look on the tee? Is the zombie eating a brain? Tell us everything! Not only will it get us in the holiday spirit, but it will improve your ranking in the DBH search results (and it will also help search engines like Google send customers your way).
7) Add Social Media Accounts
You can be the star of Instagram this holiday season by tagging yourself (or your cat) wearing adorable seasonal outfits or showing off homemade festive pies! Or, you can also be the star of Instagram all the time by adding your social media accounts in your artist shop in the DBH Artist Dashboard. We’d love to tag you and promote your artwork to help potential fans follow you.
8) Promote Yourself
Whether you’re tagging your new art on social media, promoting your designs on a blog, or simply standing on a table and yelling, “look at how great my stuff is” we think you should treat yo’ self and promote yo’ self (and your store) this holiday season!
