The DBH artist, StudioM6, believes that his art has a bittersweet quality with a mix of “irony and charm” at the core. He re-imagines some of our favorite classic characters, while also opening the door to a world that is filled with obscure legends and beautifully detailed adventures.
StudioM6, or Moises, hails from Murcia in the southwest region of Spain; he admits, “I love my life here.” Although he savors every minute that he spends at home, he also looks forward to the day when he will be able to visit countries like Japan and Australia.
StudioM6 considers his mother a visionary and appreciates that she always knows exactly what is coming or what he should do. Similarly, Moises believes that his “greatest achievement and design” is his beautiful daughter. Nonetheless – on a different level – he is also proud of a recent project when he designed artwork for an aircraft carrier because it pushed him out of his comfort zone.
He confesses – like many artists – that one of his greatest obstacles is being able to make his artistic vision into a reality. He shares, “being self-taught I have my limitations” yet he still puts in the time and effort to improve his skills. He readily acknowledges that he is never satisfied with his art because he always thinks it can be improved upon. His wife reminds him to walk away and “leave it that way, that’s fine!”
He concedes that on most days he feels like his schedule takes a backseat and that “chaos” reigns. He might find himself staying up all night to perfect a design, even if it means feeling like a zombie the next day. He jokes, “I don't like the designs I made the week ago and I don't think that will change 15 years from now.” In the future, he hopes to continue to pursue projects that challenge him and help him improve as an artist.
