Ega Anugrah Januar is a 27-year-old artist living on the border of Bogor and Sukabumi in West Java, Indonesia. He has a breathtaking array of graphics that he pens under the art aliases, Wolfinwolf and Egaartwork. Wolfinwolf finds inspiration for his designs from the digital world around him — like video games, movies and “the amazing works that other artists have done” on social media.
He shares, “my neighborhood is not some art environment” and then explains that he must fight to find the time and the creative space to make his art. However, he is passionate about drawing and hopes that someday he can support himself and his family solely with his art. He tells artists to follow their passion and “know yourself more deeply and do what you think you like because, if you do what you like, it will only grow to be better.”
His style is something he has created and recreated over time; he enjoys adding surprising modifications to “add interest” for his audience. For instance, he includes small touches to his designs to surprise viewers, like when he incorporates two different wing styles on a bird, or when he adds an unexpected detail in the corner of a design. He believes that creativity is making “something that doesn't exist in the real world” and sharing it with people.
