Chofy87, or Sofia, is a 33-year-old digital illustrator from Buenos Aires, Argentina who designs child-friendly art that is filled with positive messages and vivid colors. As a child, she fell in love with the Sailor Moon manga series and her artistic spark was ignited. Today, her artwork has evolved but she admits that she is still encouraged by “cute things, fantasy, cyber punk, and Japanese art.” However, she also believes that “everything that surrounds you can help you to trigger your imagination.” Her designs are the perfect blend of fantasy and reality coming to life on the page.

Chofy87 confesses that becoming an artist was not her first plan. She studied biological sciences in school and worked in the field for several years before changing her path. She stresses that it is important to “follow your instinct and keep going” because it is “never too late” to change direction and follow your dreams. She shares, “keep going, you will find the way, your way.”

Sofia’s decision to pursue art professionally has been her proudest and greatest achievement. She cannot imagine her life without it and believes that “creativity for me is freedom, is feeling capable of doing what YOU want.” Still, she admits that as an artist there are “your good days and your bad days” but that her goal is to keep learning and keep creating every day. The knowledge that her art “can make someone happy” keeps her drawing and sharing it with the world.
