Rarpoint, or Ryan Agustian, is an independent illustrator from Indonesia. He constructed his art alias by combining his initials, R.A.R., with the “sharp end of the pencil” or the “point” to make the art alias he uses today. He admits that he has always loved drawing cartoons with “simple lines” and he gravitates towards “illustrations with humor or jokes.” Although he is still searching for his unique style, his cat character is one that is distinctly his own and fills the page with warmth and compassion. He loves seeing his artwork and message shared by others; one of his greatest accomplishments is seeing his artwork worn by a fan.
Like many artists, he confesses to “overthinking” and getting lost in feelings of insecurity about his art. He says, “to overcome this, I always try to think positively and keep sharing my art no matter what.” He tries to ignore his fears because he believes that creativity is about letting go and embracing the freedom. He shares, “basically humans are creative if their minds are free.” He reminds other artists to have patience with themselves because “nothing is instant in this world.”
