Featured Artist Update: Coffeeman

Longtime DBH artist Coffeeman, or Robert Sanchez, returns to the DBH stage to share updates on his artistic journey. He is still living in the Dominican Republic and continues to find inspiration for his designs from the tropical landscapes and beauty that surrounds him. He admits, “I know it is also my job but it relaxes me a lot to draw” and he looks to his creative work to find rest, relaxation, and his own mini vacation from the world.

He shares that the greatest change in his work has been that his designs are now “simpler and more colorful” than in the past. Still, he confesses, “I don’t think I have a defined style yet, I really like to experiment.” Although he loves to try new styles and themes in his work, he always maintains a sense of humor and a light-heartedness in his designs. More than anything, he loves to create graphics that pop off the page with color, laughter, and fun, while also radiating a zest for life that inspires his audience.

Coffeeman is working “to find that balance” and “respect that schedule of work and personal life.” However, he jokes that his “mind is always working” and that it can be difficult to keep a balance because he can’t stop himself from wanting to draw the world around him. Today, he is working on more summer designs; we’re excited to see what he shares and for more fun in the sun!
