Homebody Collection: Are You A Homebody or Secretly A Cat?
We just got invited to the coolest party in town! We’re officially hip. Congratulations to us!
We’re super excited about this party, but also, well… maybe we don’t want to go? I mean, brush our hair? Make small talk? All those things sound like the exact opposite of what we want to do this weekend. Mhmmm, maybe we should just stay in and get cozy instead?
If you’re a homebody (like the DBH team!), then you are more than ready for a night of snacks, naps, and quiet time too. But wait… isn’t that what a cat would want? Oh my god, are we actually just cats pretending to be human?
Are all homebodies secretly just cats? Let’s investigate:
1) Inside vs. Outside
As homebodies, we often find ourselves wanting to go out with friends, until we actually go out with friends. In the end, all we really want to do is go home and unbutton our pants. We want to go out, but we don’t want to go out. So, really we’re not that different from a cat. A cat wants to go outside. Maybe stay inside. Outsideeeee?! INSIDE! Okay, never mind, the cat is just going to sit in the doorway for the next hour while it thinks it over.
2) Snacks
As homebodies, we have mastered the snack game. We’re stocked up on a snack for every conceivable mood. We don’t want to get a craving for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and need to go to the store. Cats are no different. They have a flavor for every mood. How dare you try to feed your cat the same can of cat food from this morning! She ate an hour ago and requires a different flavor to lick and leave uneaten in her dish.
3) Simple Joys
As homebodies, we can appreciate the little things. Who needs a night out when we’ve got a Netflix show to binge tonight? Who needs a four-star dinner when we can get our favorite food delivered and then eat it with our hands over the sink? Your cat feels the same way! What cat wants an expensive cat bed if there’s an old paper bag to sleep on? And forget about an expensive cat tree because there’s probably an old box somewhere that your cat would like more anyway!
4) Naps
As homebodies, we understand that there are certain places and certain times for certain naps. A lazy Saturday nap should happen on the living room couch, while a lunch nap should happen in the hammock in your backyard. Your cat appreciates the importance of nap times and nap locations as well. A 3 A.M. nap should happen on the human’s face while they’re trying to sleep, and an afternoon nap should happen on the human’s keyboard while they’re on an important Zoom call. Duh.
Okay, so we may not actually be cats, but if you’re anything like the DBH team (and the best homebodies around!), then you’ll appreciate these adorable Homebody-inspired designs to wear on the next weekend that you get invited to a fancy party and decide not to go!
