Ice cream is the perfect food because it’s equally acceptable to eat it when you’re happy or sad. It’s your birthday? Have some ice cream! You just got dumped? Have some ice cream! In fact, if you’re having a major temper tantrum or the world’s biggest meltdown, then ice cream might just be the only cure! Whip that attitude with some whipped cream, sprinkle positivity into your day with sprinkles, or just split your bad mood in half with a banana split.
In honor of the new Meltdown Collection, we’re taking a look at pop culture’s grumpiest characters who have the best (or worst) meltdowns!
1) The Hulk
So, he’s pretty much famous for… getting mad? All the other Marvel heroes can fly or shoot lasers, but Hulk gets to just be… really angry? No wonder the guy is so grumpy! If we were surrounded by superheroes who just made us feel bad about our powers and then had to buy a new pair of pants every time we hulked out, then we’d be pretty grumpy too. Just think, if the Hulk didn’t have to spend all his money on clothes, he’d probably be able to afford more ice cream!
2) Donald Duck
We may not always be able to understand what he’s saying, but, boy, is that duck mad! Donald Duck may be a big ol’ softie most of the time, but he’s also known for having some of the most epic meltdowns in Disney. We’d like to think that he’s just having a bad day, but apparently he’s been this way since 1934. It’s starting to look like a pattern and not just one bad day…
3) Squidward
Squidward is known to be a little krabby at times, but that’s nothing that a tasty ice cream cone from The Krusty Krab can’t fix! Wait, what? There’s no ice cream on the Krusty Krab menu?! No wonder Squidward’s so mad all the time! He’s forced to work with SpongeBob and Patrick all day (we love those two, but they’re idiots) and he can’t even enjoy a frosty cone while he’s doing it?
4) Grumpy
Poor Grumpy, it seems like his temper was predestined with a name like that! Then again, he does work in a mine and that doesn’t exactly sound like a walk in the park. In fact, if he ate ice cream all day instead of digging for diamonds (diamonds that he doesn’t even get to keep!)… he’d probably be in a better mood!
5) Marvin the Martian
Marvin the Martian is not a fan of Earthlings and he mostly wants to blow everyone up. We can safely say that he’s in the grumpy department. But — in his defense — it’s a long way from Mars and maybe he just forgot to pack a snack for the ride! We can’t blame him if he’s just hangry, right?
