The Assassin's Creed Unity t-shirt design contest featured a "bonus" prize section for artists to submit their work-in-progress and timelapse videos. These videos documented an artist's process as they worked towards their final design! We received a lot of speed painting entries that impressed us, but we finally chose winner and DBH artist WhisperingDreams who received a $50 gift card from us! We selected WhisperingDreams Work In Progress Video because it gave us a real in-depth look into her speed painting process. Throughout the video you can see how she approaches appropriate dimensions for face shape and facial features as well as shadowing - the key to making the design look realistic. It was also interesting to see her work completely in black, white and grey before moving directly to color. This speed painting video also gave us (and fans!) a close up view of the design to see how much detail was truly put into this piece of artwork.
